That Moses Girl is Getting Started

Hi!

Welcome to That Moses Girl's very first blog post. If you're reading this, then thank you; from the bottom of my heart. You're supporting my dream. I have wanted to launch a blog for nearly a decade. I allowed my fears of failing, of looking silly, of embarrassment of putting my feelings, tips and tricks, and my life out for anyone to see to get this started. BUT, what if this was a place where I could fulfill the need to write, but also to inspire others? My hope is that it does just that.

Who is That Moses Girl?

I'm Allison Moses. I love to write. I love to share experiences. I'm a huge believer in the saying "Women Support Women." I'm sort of a grown up. I have been married to my best friend since May 2012. I birthed two babies-a boy and a girl. I work. I work hard! I work all of the time! And, I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm an open book. You'll likely see that I don't hold back on much. If you're friends with me, then you know exactly where I stand-happy, depressed, lonely...I share it all. All of the feelings. If you don't know me yet, then hi, welcome. We are now best friends.

How did That Moses Girl come about?

I've gotta tell you. It was the encouragement of my girlfriends, my mom, plus the undying support of my husband-John who gave me the final push into launching this bad boy. I'll be honest...I'm not an expert in fashion, makeup tips, workout routines, being a mom, being a wife, nor am I the best cook. But, I am more than willing to share what's worked (and hasn't worked) for me in my thirty trips around the sun. I've been through a lot. I plan on sharing a lot of those experiences with you all. Plus, I love to express through words. It's a soother. It's where I feel the most comfortable and the most articulate.

God's timing is perfect. I was called to do this at a time in my life in which I didn't think was perfect, but He did. In fact, you'd think that nearly a decade ago when I was bored out of my mind at work as a recent college graduate, single, living paycheck-to-paycheck would have been a way better time!
I'm at a point in my life that is absolutely chaotic. I have a full-time job, (more on this later) a part-time job, (definitely more on this later too) a dog to walk, four million loads of laundry to fold, boo-boos to kiss, baby bottles to wash, and a household to run. CHAOS!

However, I'm also at a point where I have NEVER been happier. While my marriage isn't perfect, we strive for perfection daily. My kids need their mommy and I'm happy to oblige. My full-time job allows some flexibility, challenges my brain cells, and co-workers who I consider family. My part-time job allows me to physically exercise and to connect with my closest girlfriends.

What can you expect as a reader of That Moses Girl?

The point behind That Moses Girl blog is to make you think; to remind you that it's okay to treat 'yo self; to share some funny things; to share some sad things; to educate; to inspire you to be a better person; to cook something that you've never cooked before; to create a community of like-minded women (and dudes, too! That's cool!) to feel safe; to have a time-waster for the next 10-15 minutes while you're on this page. Why you're here doesn't matter; I'm just glad you're here. Again, thank you!

So, here we go. Me. My thoughts. My tips and tricks. My life. My thirty years of life experiences in which I needed to create the best content for That Moses Girl.
